Persephone’s Table

Oil on Paper

Pomegranates rest like quiet offerings. In their seeds lives the story of Persephone.

In the ancient story, Persephone eats the fruit of the underworld and becomes bound to both worlds, the living and the dead. Each year, her return brings spring, her departure, winter. Through her, the pomegranate became a symbol of life within death, return within loss.

A fruit that binds the living to the underworld, reminding us that every descent carries the promise of light.
